About Us

We are a quirky little design brand making lovely things, by hand and with some clever kit, using natural materials sometime right off the beach here on our beautiful island.  Based on the Scottish Isle of Coll,  Seahorse is small, family business, set up by the late designer Nicky Lewis in Lismore, and now run by Ann, her former colleague and close friend.

We design and create in wood, paper, stone and fabrics, all from our base here on the Isle of Coll, off the wild coast of north Argyll.

We are passionate about great looking design, and about making things here in our little workshop on the island. Working in a lovely, but isolated, place, jobs are few and far between and Seahorse is committed to providing local employment whenever we can. 

From ceramics to chalkboards, and everything in between, we love to personalise items for you, to help evoke memories and tell little stories, or to include thoughtful or secret messages to make a purchase truly personal.

We are very much inspired by the nature around us and by the bonkers side of life living in a small island community. We hope you enjoy our products and we are always really happy to hear from you with ideas of your own so that we can make a truly bespoke item just for you.
